Communications Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to join our team at Macquarie University. As a key member of our Group Marketing unit, you will play a critical role in protecting and enhancing the University's reputation through strategic communications.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement communications strategies to support the University's objectives across education, research, health, and community and industry engagement.
- Provide expert communication advice to University leaders and work with other members of Group Marketing to deliver a holistic marketing communications service to stakeholders.
- Support a small number of Offices within the University, including Alumni, Philanthropy and Human Resources, to realise their strategic objectives through the planning and delivery of engaging communications on earned, owned and internal channels.
- Expert writing and editing skills across a range of communications channels as well as expertise in writing for a range of diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience working in a full service, in-house communications function including working with team members in high performing teams.
- Experience in building relationships and influencing senior management teams providing counsel across a range of communications issues.
- Experience in communications strategy planning and implementation communications across earned, owned and internal communications channels.
- Knowledge of digital communications platforms and tools, media engagement and internal communications.
