Trading Support Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Global trading firm in their Sydney office.

You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of the ETF trade lifecycle, including end-of-day position reconciliations, ensuring trades are captured in an efficient and timely manner, and positions are accurate and reconciled to external brokers.

You will produce accurate daily Profit and Loss statements for the trading team and ensure a strong control framework throughout the complete trade life cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile position, cash, and trade activity prior to market open
  • Reconcile front office estimates to various broker reporting
  • Analyse various accruals, including interest, internal capital charge, borrow expenses, brokerage fees & rebates etc.
  • Manage fund transfers across brokers, including cross-border transfers for restricted currency
  • Understand and cross-check Prime Broker Margin & OTC Collateral policies/models
  • Manage the life cycle of ETF creations and redemptions
  • Liaise between operation, traders, and all internal departments, as well as brokers
  • Support business growth and expansion into new products and markets

Ideal Experience:

  • 4+ years Profit and Loss reporting experience within financial markets
  • In-depth knowledge of ETF life cycle, handling trade flow through to settlement
  • Knowledge of equity swap & futures necessary
  • Experience in translation of foreign profit and loss into base currency
  • Maintain strong organisational skills and meticulous record-keeping, as well as fostering efficiency and accuracy to complete tasks and follow process
  • Detail-oriented, with ability to prioritise based on materiality and risk considerations
  • A self-starter, quick learner, and analytical mindset when tackling issues
  • Ability to build strong and positive relationships both internally and with broker contacts
  • Reliable and flexible team player with a positive demeanour
  • Mandarin written and spoken proficiency advantageous
