We are seeking an experienced Urban Planner to join our team at Planning Institute Australia. As an Urban Planner - Project Manager, you will play a key role in leading and managing projects from concept to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in urban planning, with experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and community consultation. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing projects from concept to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Developing and implementing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders, including clients, community groups, and government agencies.
  • Preparing and presenting project reports, including project updates, progress reports, and final project reports.
  • Providing technical advice and guidance to project teams, including urban planners, engineers, and architects.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks, including environmental, social, and economic risks.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, community groups, and government agencies.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in urban planning or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in urban planning, with a focus on project management.
  • Strong knowledge of urban planning principles, policies, and legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Proficient in project management software, including MS Project, Asana, or Trello.
