About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Town Planner to join our team at Planning Institute Australia. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for assessing, reporting, and determining development applications and associated planning functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and report on development applications, ensuring compliance with relevant planning laws and regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on planning matters, including urban design, land use planning, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including council members, planners, and engineers, to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including developers, community groups, and other government agencies.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant planning laws, policies, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to inform planning decisions.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in town planning, with a focus on development assessment and reporting.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of planning laws, policies, and best practices, as well as experience with planning software and tools.
