Family Violence Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team as a Family Violence Support Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people who need help most.

This full-time, permanent position is located in Noosaville, QLD. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to provide support and guidance, helping them to improve their situation and progress case plan goals.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV qualification in social work, welfare, community development or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development. Relevant experience working in Family and Domestic Violence is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare residential units for intake and exit, including adding clients to the database, stocking the unit, and preparing intake paperwork.
  • Establish effective relationships with clients, encouraging self-determination and participation, and supporting them to improve their situation and progress case plan goals.
  • Report any Family and Domestic Violence risks/safety concerns to the Family Violence Case Manager immediately.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and data, in accordance with TSA standards and procedures.
  • Identify and report any risks to clients, staff, and the organization, and bring these to the attention of the Team Leader/Manager as soon as possible.
  • Identify service gaps and make recommendations for service delivery improvements to the Team Leader.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate IV qualification in social work, welfare, community development or a related field.
  • Demonstrated equivalent knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development.
  • Relevant experience working in Family and Domestic Violence.
  • National police record check.
  • Working with Children Check Queensland.
  • Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
  • Current First Aid Certificate with CPR, or willingness to obtain.
