Technical Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Services Technician to join our Systems team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic and motivated by delivering high-quality technical services.
- This full-time continuing position involves 36.25 hours of work per week, with competitive salary and benefits.
The Digital Services Technician will provide desktop, audiovisual (AV), and digital services support to the University, ensuring that customer needs are addressed and high-quality performance outcomes are consistently delivered. The role includes maintaining the operational functionality, security, and reliability of AV technology, desktop systems, and peripheral devices at JCU by diagnosing and resolving routine technical issues, performing software installations, and supporting operating system and hardware updates.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktop hardware, software troubleshooting, and associated technology.
- Provide first and second-level desktop, audiovisual (AV), and digital services support to the University community.
- Maintain the operational functionality, security, and reliability of AV technology, desktop systems, and peripheral devices at JCU.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree qualifications or relevant experience and education in a related field.
- Experience in resolving technical faults and providing customer support in a videoconferencing and audiovisual environment.
- Informed analytical and problem-solving skills to judge shifting priorities and work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated computer literacy with proficiency in a range of software packages and ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
