Salary InformationThe estimated salary for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Executive Pastry and Sous Chef to join our team. As second in command, you will lead the kitchen operations, remain organised, and report vital information to the Head Chef. Your key responsibilities include assisting the Head Chef, taking their place when needed, and being familiar with all daily kitchen operations.
Requirements and Qualifications- Adequate professional experience in a high-quality restaurant environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of legal requirements for health and safety, environmental health, and food safety.
- Strong client relationship and people management skills, with proven ability to develop trust and credibility.
- A sound understanding of current trends and consumer requirements.
- Work in a diverse range of locations, from production kitchens to private homes and event venues.
- Flexible roster with daytime/weekday production shifts and event shifts.
- Opportunity to create dishes for a broad range of clientele.
- Prepare menu items according to recipes, kitchen standards, and food safety requirements.
- Maintain food safety compliance at all times.
- Oversee the production kitchen's requirements and execute offsite events under the guidance of the Head Chef.
- Train and oversee kitchen team members.
- Maintain company software for recipes, costings, food safety, and purchasing.
