Position Overview: Senior HR Manager

The Senior HR Manager will play a crucial role in steering the organization towards effective industrial relations, performance management, and employee engagement. This key position involves offering strategic advice and support to the People & Culture team, ensuring that our HR practices are both practical and aligned with business objectives.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Establish and uphold a comprehensive Industrial Relations framework that aligns with the strategic goals of the organization.
  2. Provide expert negotiation support and guidance to People & Culture Managers and Business Leaders.
  3. Develop and implement people policies, including standards and guidelines, while ensuring effective performance management and investigation processes.
  4. Oversee employee contracts and terms, ensuring clarity and compliance with legal standards.
  5. Ensure adherence to relevant legislative requirements across all operational jurisdictions.
  6. Work closely with the in-house Legal team to ensure consistency and manage any necessary escalations, while overseeing governance and external advisor relationships.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. In-depth understanding of Industrial Relations and Employment Relations legislation in Australia.
  2. Extensive experience in a similar HR leadership role.
  3. Proven track record in negotiating employment agreements and working with unions.
  4. Strong focus on continuous improvement with experience in developing effective strategies and frameworks.
  5. High level of commercial awareness and the ability to make informed decisions within established guidelines.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen eye for detail and strong relationship management abilities.
  7. Ability to balance hands-on tasks with strategic oversight.
