Indigenous Engagement and Partnerships Lead

We are seeking an experienced Indigenous Engagement and Partnerships Manager to join our team at SBS Australia. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
As a leader in Indigenous engagement, you will develop and execute a First Nations stakeholder engagement strategy, building and maintaining positive relationships with key Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders. You will also provide high-level advice to SBS's Executive and Senior Management on Indigenous cultural protocols, community consultation, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and execute a First Nations stakeholder engagement strategy, building and maintaining positive relationships with key Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders.
- Policy and Cultural Leadership: Provide high-level advice to SBS's Executive and Senior Management on Indigenous cultural protocols, community consultation, and best practices.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and management of Indigenous-focused projects and partnerships, including significant cultural and community events.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Indigenous Engagement & Partnerships team, fostering a cohesive and productive environment.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Indigenous engagement, with a proven track record of providing senior-level advice and managing complex projects.
- Strong strategic thinking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively across diverse stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of the diverse cultures, languages, and communities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Demonstrated experience in managing teams, budgets, and resources, with a focus on achieving strategic outcomes and increasing impact.
