Role Description
As a member of our Medical Records team, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of our department by reading and analysing medical records to ensure accurate identification of diagnoses, procedures and allied health interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and analyse medical records to ensure accurate identification of diagnoses, procedures and allied health interventions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of coding standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely coding.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve coding accuracy and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
You will be highly passionate and driven individual seeking a role where your interest in Clinical Coding can be optimised. You will have proven recent experience in a similar role and have an exceptional collaborative approach. You share our values and want to be a part of a dynamic team.
Essential Skills & Competencies:
- Satisfactory completion of Introductory ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS; or Certificate IV in Clinical Classification or Equivalent qualification.
- At least two years of recent practical experience participating in clinical coding in a hospital environment.
- Sound working knowledge of clinical coding principals and standards.
- Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and work without direct supervision.
- Able to self-prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Meet the desired coding targets.
- Proficient in the use of information technology.
- Able to form and maintain effective and harmonious working relations within a team environment.
Desirable:
- Intermediate ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS;
- Experience in PiMS and Codexpert or similar coding software.
