Executive Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Lone Star Rockhampton, QLD.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new dishes and menus, considering preparation costs and labour costs.
- Ordering and maintaining inventory of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
- Training staff and enforcing hygiene requirements in the kitchen.
- Maintaining the quality of all menu items at all stages of cooking and preparation.
- Developing and maintaining presentation of dishes.
- Preparing marinades for meat items.
- Coordinating with the restaurant manager.
- Assisting other cooks with daily kitchen operations.
- Ensuring staffing issues are resolved fairly and quickly.
- Training cooks and kitchen staff on different cooking techniques and methods.
- Coordinating with waiters on food service.
- Participating in management meetings and contributing to food preparation and staff training.
- Participating in preparation and cooking of dishes.
- Supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and other food preparation workers.
- Preparing dishes upon customer order.
- Rostering kitchen staff.
- Assisting management with training of support staff and other kitchen staff.
- Ensuring food produced by the restaurant meets approved standards.
The successful candidate will have excellent multitasking, creativity, and culinary expertise skills.
Salary: $73,000 - $75,000 + Super.
