Consumer Peer Support Specialist
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our multidisciplinary teams as a Consumer Peer Support Specialist at our new mental health centre.
This role requires lived/living experience as a consumer of mental health services and a good understanding of the recovery process. The successful applicant will have a personal lived/living experience of mental health challenges and accessing mental health services, with the ability to mutually support consumers in their own recovery; sharing their lived experience to support them to take positive steps towards their own wellbeing.
The ideal candidate will build an understanding of the effectiveness of the role of lived experience workforces within clinical mental health services and develop well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult, liaise and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
