We are seeking a dedicated professional to support individuals at risk of or on compulsory treatment orders. As an advocate, you will play a vital role in empowering people to understand and exercise their rights.

About the Job

The successful candidate will provide services to individuals, assist them in understanding and exercising their rights, and enable them to participate in decisions about their treatment, care, and recovery.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to enquiries from users, mental health organisations, and services.
  • Provide in-person services, coaching for self-advocacy, and referrals as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders. You should also have a deep understanding of mental health challenges impacting Victorians and the ability to advocate on behalf of consumers.
