**Job Title**: Mental Health Advocate for Youth

- Opportunity for Social Worker or Psychologist in a Collaborative Team Environment.

**About the Role**:

  • Provide outreach counselling and advocacy services to young people (12-25 years) who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and have experienced sexual assault.
  • Develop and deliver education, training, consultation and resourcing services to support systems serving the target group, and engage in relevant community development and health promotion activities.

The role primarily involves working at outreach locations in the East, with some time at our Ringwood East site. There may also be an expectation of availability for after-hours on-call duties with a minimum of two shifts per month.

**Requirements**:

  • Hold an appropriate tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology.
  • Have experience in sexual assault and/or family violence, or mental health, including understanding trauma assessment and treatment.
  • Be aware of the dynamics and impact of sexual assault related to adults and young people/children.
  • Have experience working therapeutically with children and young people would be viewed favourably.
  • Approach situations with respect, compassion, innovation, and reflection, with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those impacted by sexual assault.
