About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Building Compliance Specialist to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our compliance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with building and environmental regulations.

Job Description

This is a 6-month contract position that requires you to investigate and take appropriate enforcement actions concerning compliance matters. You will work autonomously and collaboratively, utilising your strong knowledge of relevant legislation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations on compliance issues regarding breaches of relevant local government, planning, and environmental legislation
  • Carry out appropriate enforcement action by way of education, fines, notices, orders, and directions
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely and professional manner

Requirements

  • Qualification in Planning, Building Surveying, or equivalent professional discipline
  • Accreditation with NSW Fair Trading at a registration level of Building Inspector (A4)
  • Driver Licence
  • Working knowledge of BCA and EPA
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
