As a Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees. You will be responsible for providing support and partnering with the operations team to improve the overall safety performance and culture at the site.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting inductions, training, and competency assessments of new and existing workers;
- Being visible and regularly engaging with all workers through safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety observations;
- Cooking, mentoring, and educating workers, team leaders, and supervisors to achieve best safety practices;
- Conducting routine safety inspections, monitoring, and analysis of work areas;
- Undertaking risk assessments, incident reporting, and root cause investigations;
- Working closely with the National WHS Team and Operations Team to implement safety improvement programs, policies, and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A minimum Cert IV Work Health & Safety qualification;
- A Cert IV Training and Assessing qualification;
- A minimum 5 years' experience and knowledge of health and safety within a manufacturing environment (desirable);
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement, to ensure clear and concise information is presented to the team, manager, and customers;
- Exceptional organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks to achieve tight deadlines;
- High levels of self-motivation, drive, and initiative combined with the ability to adapt to changes in circumstances;
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required;
- High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
