About the Role

selectability is a not-for-profit charity with a primary focus of improving mental wellbeing and contributing to suicide prevention across regional Queensland. We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to join our corporate finance team, based in Townsville.

The successful candidate will assist the Finance Accountants in the sound financial management of selectability and associated entities through the delivery of comprehensive timely and accurate accounting and payroll processing and financial administrative support services.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • managing and processing the company's payroll on a timely basis
  • ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • maintaining accurate payroll records and reports
  • handling payroll inquiries and resolving discrepancies
  • collaborating with HR and other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations
  • staying updated with changes in payroll laws and regulations

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • experience and competence at an advanced level in the use of MYOB and Microsoft Excel
  • an understanding of job costing processes
  • a high understanding of the operation of different awards, including SCHADS, Aged Care, Nursing, Education and Health Professionals awards
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • excellent interpersonal skills; capacity to interact with staff at all levels and to work effectively with the team
  • high-level organisational, administrative and project management skills, including the ability to set priorities against competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • the ability to work under minimal supervision

  • A Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
