Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Marriott Hotels. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, collaborating with the Head Chef, and ensuring the highest quality of food production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily communications and operations of the kitchen, ensuring seamless execution of food production and service.
  • Liaise daily with the culinary team to discuss food production, set-ups, and timings for daily events.
  • Plan and execute team-building activities to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Empower and support your team to deliver exceptional service and maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Assist the Head Chef in ensuring the quality, consistency, and production of areas of responsibility, focusing on attention to detail.
  • Maintain organizational skills to ensure the kitchen is clean and runs efficiently throughout each service period.
  • Understand guest requirements and deliver service excellence with each customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with Work, Health and Safety, Hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Fuel guest's curiosity and inspire brilliance when assisting with menu design and outlet concepts.
About You
  • Trade Industry Qualification or completion of Commercial Cookery Qualification.
  • Passion for the industry and relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Working rights in Australia.
