Job Title: Executive Chef

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team at Job2Go Pty Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items to ensure high-quality dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Menu Development: Assist in designing new menu items or seasonal specials, participating in brainstorming and food tastings with the team.
  • Kitchen Operations Management: Supervise kitchen staff, delegating tasks and ensuring smooth operations, coordinating with suppliers for ordering quality ingredients.
  • Hygiene and Safety Compliance: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards according to health and safety regulations, monitoring the storage of food items to prevent spoilage and contamination.
  • Cost Control and Stock Management: Manage stock levels and reduce wastage, monitoring food costs to ensure profitability without compromising quality.
  • Teamwork and Leadership: Provide guidance and training to junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive working environment by encouraging collaboration.
  • Customer Service: Respond to feedback from customers and incorporate suggestions where necessary, maintaining positive communication with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher
  • Proven two (2) years of relevant experience as a Chef
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, safety standards, and OHS regulations
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
  • Creativity and passion for cooking, with the ability to innovate
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle feedback and solve problems efficiently

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Prior experience preparing Greek cuisine
  • Experience in menu planning and costing
  • Knowledge of different cuisines and culinary techniques
