CK Recruitment is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our client, a local government organization in Western Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring value for money contracts are established within a diverse range of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare tenders, quotations, and EOI's to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and government guidelines.
  • Review contract documents to ensure they meet the necessary standards.
  • Manage special projects and develop quality management documentation for the procurement branch.
  • Recommend actions to improve current processes and customer service.
  • Ensure tendering and contract management comply with relevant legislation, codes, and council policy.
  • Manage risk and ensure compliance within the relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of approaches to market, tendering, and quotations for the supply of goods, services, and works in a government context.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, including research, analysis, and presentation of viewpoints.
  • Proven experience in tendering, quotations, and contract management.
  • Ability to work at pace and remain approachable under pressure.
  • Sound organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Advanced skills in teamwork and leadership.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or Cert IV or Diploma of Government Procurement and Contracting.
  • Experience in a medium to large public sector or private sector organization.
  • Well-developed computer literacy with the ability to use electronic tendering and contract systems.
  • Sound understanding of the Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government (General) Regulations.
