About this Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Holcim, a global leader in sustainable building materials. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a critical role in implementing procurement strategies, developing effective relationships with suppliers, and optimizing procurement outcomes to support the company's strategic and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify Cost-Saving Opportunities: Analyze operational spend data to identify areas for cost reduction and develop initiatives to achieve cost savings.
  • Build Strong Business Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to strengthen the credibility of the procurement team and influence procurement decisions and outcomes.
  • Negotiate Agreements: Collaborate with Category Management to negotiate agreements with suppliers on local volumes, processes, quality levels, and prices.
  • Support RFx Process: Assist in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process as defined by category strategy.
  • Execute Contracts: Develop and execute contracts that optimize benefits to the company, such as performance-based contracts.
  • Develop Category Knowledge: Develop an excellent understanding of how the business units function and use this knowledge to maximize procurement's ability to add value to the business.
  • Set Benefit Targets: Set benefit targets and ensure they are achieved for a set portfolio of spend categories.
  • Perform Regional Spot Buying: Conduct regional spot buying for special request items not covered by existing agreements.
  • Track and Report Supplier Performance: Monitor and report supplier performance and KPIs.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with national and regional category strategies and company requirements.
  • Champion Change and Innovation: Champion new ideas and initiatives to drive change and innovation in procurement.
About You
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Business, Economics, or Engineering.
  • Certification: Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification is desirable.
  • Experience: Credible experience in strategic sourcing and operational buying, preferably in a related environment.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and execution skills, with a focus on cost reduction and financial concepts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge: Good category knowledge, including markets, usage, TCO, should-cost models, and financial concepts. Proficiency in MS Office, including strong Excel skills, and knowledge of SAP or equivalent procurement software.
