Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Summary:

C.H. Robinson is seeking a seasoned leader to drive business growth and development in our Melbourne branch. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading our sales and operations teams to achieve strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business strategies to drive revenue growth and improve operational efficiency.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve sales and customer growth targets.

  • Collaborate with commercial teams to identify opportunities and drive sales growth.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic customers and partners.

  • Manage financial performance and ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Oversee expense management and implement process improvements.

  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and define service standards with internal and external providers.

  • Guide and direct the team on customer-related decisions.

  • Manage talent and develop the skills of direct and indirect reports.

  • Oversee reward and recognition strategies.

  • Review employee engagement measures and implement action plans to improve culture and collaboration.

  • Represent C.H. Robinson as a legal representative to agencies, organizations, and other private and government organizations.

  • Partner with legal and local counsel to manage contracts and negotiations with customers and carriers.

  • Oversee and adhere to workplace conduct, risk management, and compliance practices.

  • Create, update, and implement business continuity plans.

  • Ensure self and team act with the highest ethical standards.

  • Lead and support change management.

  • Actively participate in various industry, community, and campus activities to enhance the C.H. Robinson brand.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in leading business strategy, operations, and change management within a large organization.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum 8 years of people management experience.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% (domestically).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of C.H. Robinson's carrier, commercial-facing, and/or customer-facing business.

  • Experience managing financials for a business segment with ability to understand and communicate financial metrics.

  • Demonstrated success generating revenue or business growth in a client-facing role.

  • Experience managing cross-functional projects.

  • Demonstrated negotiation, collaboration, and influencing skills.
