The Role
The primary objective of the Home Controls and Performance Manager is to devise best practices and innovative strategies that align with the Home Claims vision and Financial goals, emphasizing planning, reporting, and modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
- Assist in the formulation, evaluation, and execution of the Home Claims Division's strategic objectives and operational plans by providing insights on best practices and emerging trends pertinent to the Auto & General landscape.
- Achieve performance targets in line with the objectives while adhering to the Company's frameworks for ongoing monitoring, assessment, and enhancement of performance, productivity, and quality.
- Contribute to sustainable financial outcomes through judicious management of the allocated budget, consistent with the Company's risk appetite.
- Enhance service delivery by optimizing available resources through effective capacity planning and strategic management of suppliers and partners. Negotiate with Executive stakeholders as necessary to prioritize and deliver competing projects and initiatives.
- Facilitate the implementation of formal and informal systems across the Division for managing communication and key stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure full compliance with the Company's risk management (including HSE), governance, compliance, and accountability frameworks across all operations.
- Actively promote and reinforce the Auto & General brand and culture by exemplifying high performance standards, positively influencing teams and individuals, resolving conflicts, and clearly communicating the Company vision and objectives.
Job Specific Duties
- Create systems, processes, and procedures to guarantee the efficient monitoring and management of the Home Claims division's performance, focusing on regular, detailed, and robust forecasting and reporting.
- Analyze business unit expenditures against the budget and perform re-forecasts as needed.
- Conduct monthly financial reporting, highlighting risk areas, opportunities, and trends, while providing recommendations for innovative enhancements to improve the Company's financial performance and controls.
- Oversee the preparation of annual budgets.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness and adherence to Company policies and procedures, including the completion of mandatory training.
- Undertake other reasonable and relevant tasks as required to meet operational needs.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 3 years in general claims management.
- Extensive experience in managing financial systems, conducting targeted and ad-hoc reporting, and providing insightful forecasting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop board papers and reports.
- Strong analytical capabilities and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to effectively lead, engage, and develop team members.
- Relevant experience in the Banking, Finance & Insurance and/or Technology sectors, with a solid understanding of regulatory and commercial requirements.
