Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual who can provide support to people with aged care and disability needs. As an Aged & Disability Support Professional, you will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and facilitating community inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care support including showering/bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, preparing meals, and assisting with physical and mobility requirements.
  • Assist with personal activities such as administration, shopping, banking, attending appointments, performing house duties, washing/ironing, and medication support through webster packs.
  • Transport support and facilitate community inclusion and participation, dependent on individual needs, abilities, and preferences, and support people to establish and maintain relationships and interest through access to community activities, venues, and services.
  • Follow care plans and routines/duties/activities in a cooperative, respectful, and flexible manner, which are meaningful and purposeful to the individual.
  • Encourage positive and socially appropriate behaviors and effectively manage challenging behavior.
  • Promote empowerment and the right of choice for all people in need of support within the community.
  • Maintain appropriate records of people we support, including progress notes, medication charts, and other documents as required.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience, including Certificate in Community Services/Individual Support or similar.
  • Flexibility to work rosters between 6am to 10.30pm.
  • Spinal cord and brain injury experience highly desirable.
  • Experience in manual handling, hoists/lifter, slide sheets favorable.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to person-centered care.
  • Maturity and the ability to understand the varying aspects of the role.
  • Well-organized and good time management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with staff and people quickly and confidently.
  • Professional, discrete, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Calm and empathetic nature.
  • Resilience.
  • Ability to set aside personal beliefs and principles and put the client first.
  • Willingness to comply with reasonable directions from management.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Reliable, punctual, and commitment to the position/participants.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Strong level of computer literacy.
  • Good written/correspondence skills.
  • National Police Check (must be no longer than 2 months old).
  • NDIS check.
  • Working with Children's Check.
  • First Aid certification.

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
