Job Description

You will be responsible for overseeing the cost estimation process from tendering through to project completion.

  • Preparing accurate cost plans, sourcing quotes, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure project profitability and competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and tender proposals for commercial fitout projects.
  • Review and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and scope alignment.
  • Provide cost input during design development, offering value engineering insights where needed.
  • Work closely with project and design teams to support financial accuracy through all project phases.
  • Maintain up-to-date pricing databases and historical cost benchmarks.
  • Assist with progress claims and cost-to-complete reports during construction delivery.
Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of experience in cost estimating or quantity surveying, with at least 2 years in Australian commercial/shop fitouts.
  • Excellent understanding of local building codes, construction standards, and market pricing in NSW and wider Australia.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as CostX, Buildsoft, or similar platforms.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and scope documentation.
  • High level of accuracy, commercial insight, and problem-solving capability.
  • Strong communication skills for dealing with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
