Job Title: Senior Cost Estimator

About the Role:

The Senior Cost Estimator is responsible for providing project cost estimation services across all stages of Delivery Management projects. This includes building and maintaining competitive pricing schedule databases, as well as ensuring that Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), community and environmental issues are integrated into the development of cost plans.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Project Estimation: Prepare project estimates in accordance with industry best practice while adhering to company processes and procedures to deliver major projects on time and within budget.
  • Total Cost Calculation: Accurately determine the total cost of materials, labor, and equipment required for large and complex construction projects.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure the required information is obtained.
  • Cost Planning: Develop Cost Plans and Cost Estimates for price build and contract documentation.
  • Pre-Qualification Support: Provide expert support on pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
  • Documentation Submission: Ensure that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience as an estimator in the construction field, with demonstrable experience in the water industry or other highly regulated industries being desirable.

Skills and Experience:

  • Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
  • Construction Site Experience: Demonstrable experience of construction site working and construction logistics.
  • Regulated Environments: Experience of working in highly regulated environments under strict HS&E codes.
  • Business Acumen: Proven business acumen and experience in driving innovation and best practice in cost estimation.
