About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VE Teacher to join our team at RMIT University. As a VE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering course material, assessing students, and supervising students enrolled in selected courses in the School of Youth Work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students in the Youth Work programs (Cert 3 & Diploma Youth Work)
  • Assess student performance and provide feedback to improve learning outcomes
  • Supervise students enrolled in selected courses and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Participate in the School's continuing reviews of course content and development, delivery, teaching methods, and assessment methods
  • Interact with external organizations, industry groups, and RMIT teaching and administration staff to ensure effective collaboration and communication
Requirements
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure current and contemporary vocational competence that meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed
  • Demonstrated experience in relevant industry and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position
  • Demonstrated capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose, and implement effective solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies
Mandatory Qualifications/Experience
  • Teaching and industry experience
  • Must hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • To appoint a teacher at a classification of Teacher 3.1 or above, the appointee must hold a professional teaching qualification, defined as a qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 Diploma or above which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent qualification accepted by the University
