Job Summary

Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Youth Wellbeing Worker. This is an ongoing position, subject to funding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychosocial support to young people, carers, families, and significant others to ensure individually tailored services that meet the highest standards.
  • Collaborate with the Orygen Recovery Coordinator, medical, clinical practitioners, and lived experience workforce to understand and manage young person risks.
  • Understand and assist young people in achieving their recovery goals, including facilitating access to local service providers for clinical mental health, physical health, education, employment, eligible entitlements, and benefits.
  • Promote Orygen Recovery by building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with health and welfare agencies and the general community.
Requirements
  • Minimum qualifications of Certificate IV in mental health and previous experience working in youth mental health, or extensive experience in mental health.
  • A thorough understanding and experience in a psychosocial model.
  • Previous working knowledge of common mental health and substance use issues faced by young people, and evidence-based treatments for major adolescent health issues.
  • Ability to assess risk and follow relevant protocols to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively.

  • Salary package between $73,804-$79,139 pro rata commensurate with skills and experience + 11.5% super + NFP salary packaging up to $15,900 + $2,600 meals card.
