Student Placement Coordinator

Cape Breton University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Student Placement Officer in the department of Career Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a community-based experiential and work-integrated learning strategy in collaboration with academic schools.
- Support students through internships, co-op placements, and community learning activities, playing a crucial role in their career development.
- Facilitate both paid and unpaid work placements, working closely with employers to create valuable learning opportunities.
- Design and deliver career readiness programs, including resume writing and interview preparation, while supporting students and faculty with capstone projects and experiential learning assignments.
- Manage a diverse caseload, handling documentation and program promotion, and assist with funding applications and event planning to enhance student and community engagement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business or Community Development.
- Experience in career development or student placement.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks effectively, and be flexible with occasional evening and weekend work.
