Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Suicide Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support services to individuals experiencing suicidal distress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead recovery-oriented, trauma-informed support in collaboration with peer suicide prevention workers to provide a safe and non-clinical environment for individuals in crisis.
  • Deliver an innovative suicide prevention program as part of a contemporary team aiming to reduce distress and promote safety.
  • Contribute to education and capacity building for other staff and community members on suicide prevention.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in social work, occupational therapy, or psychology, with relevant post-graduate experience in delivery of suicide prevention support services.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) to practice as a registered nurse, and a minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience in a mental health specialty.
  • Extensive post-graduate experience in delivering situational distress, recovery-oriented service provision, trauma-informed care, safety planning, and risk management.

Additional Information
  • This is a temporary part-time position until March 2026.
  • You will be required to participate in after-hours shifts and lead shifts on weekends as needed.
