Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Suicide Prevention Specialist.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading-edge suicide prevention program, providing compassionate care and support to individuals experiencing suicidal crisis.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead high-quality recovery-oriented, trauma-informed support to individuals accessing the service.
  • Collaborate with peer specialists to provide education and training on suicide prevention and mental health promotion.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to other staff members.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to suicide prevention and mental health promotion.

Requirements
  • Qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology, with a minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience in mental health specialty.
  • Extensive postgraduate experience in delivering suicide prevention support services.
  • Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders and lead complex projects.
  • Strong computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office and relevant health-related software.

Work Environment

The service operates 5pm-9pm, 6 days a week, located in Kogarah. Evening work, including leading shifts on weekends, is a requirement of the role.
