About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Learning Support Teacher to join our team at Australian Christian College. This part-time role (0.8FTE) involves providing small group initiatives for students with diverse needs, working with teachers to support these students in their classes, and collaborating with the Learning Support team to ensure students receive the necessary support and resources.

The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students with diverse needs and a commitment to improving student academic outcomes. They will be a committed Christian, comfortable with sharing their faith, and have high expectations for what students are capable of, both academically and behaviourally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement teaching programs or courses of study to meet the diverse needs of all students
  • Demonstrate a commitment to improving professional practice through coaching and professional development
  • Provide a child-safe environment in accordance with the Child Safe Standards
  • Participate in child safety and wellbeing induction and training provided by the school
  • Maintain records of class attendance and student progress
  • Implement effective student management consistent with the school's strategic plan
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required
Requirements
  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia
  • Proof of identity
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Clearance status of the Working with Children Check (where applicable)
  • Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • Statements of service from previous child-connected roles
  • References from previous child-connected roles
About You
  • Be able to display the capacity to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Be able to receive feedback on your teaching and implement changes
  • Be able to effectively plan for, collect and analyse educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes
