About The Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Culinary Trainee to join our team at The Star Sydney. As an Executive Culinary Trainee, you will work closely with our experienced chefs to learn the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the culinary industry.

Key Responsibilities

This part-time position involves working one day per week at The Star Sydney, plus assigned TAFE days. You will also have the opportunity to work and earn on weekends and school holidays. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assisting our chefs in preparing and presenting dishes to a high standard;
  2. Learning about different cuisines and cooking techniques;
  3. Developing your communication and teamwork skills;
  4. Contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A strong focus on the guest experience and excellent interpersonal skills;
  2. A passion for cooking and a desire to learn new skills;
  3. Ongoing studies in Hospitality or Kitchen Operations;
  4. Good communication skills and a team player mentality;
  5. A hard-working attitude and willingness to learn;
  6. Natural creativity and flair for flavour and ingredients.
