This full-time permanent role requires you to work as part of the senior staff team to meet departmental objectives and develop the theatre service.

As a leader in healthcare, education, and research, Mater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient, and effective service is provided to patients and Visiting Medical Officers within Perioperative Services on a day-to-day basis.

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize clinical activity and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with other team leaders in the theatre department to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  • Act as a clinical expert within the area of work, demonstrating specialist knowledge, skills, and expertise.
  • Liaise and co-operate with wards, other departments, and personnel in the hospital.
  • Work collaboratively to maintain and raise the clinical standard of care through audit and implementation of best practices.

Your Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Hold registration with Australian Health Practitioner's Regulation Agency with a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • Possess advanced clinical knowledge and experience in a clinical area or specialty applicable to the unit.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Perioperative Nursing.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate complex information constructively.
