
Family Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified professional to join our Family Mental Health Support Services program in Mt. Druitt.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Respond to referrals or approaches to the service from internal programs, other services, families or individuals
- Schedule and conduct assessment sessions with whole families or individuals that is collaborative, and client driven at Mt Druitt office and if needed, in an outreach environment including home visitation and schools
- Organize, advertise, tailor, and facilitate relevant group programs for children and families related to building resilience, emotional management, education on mental health in a variety of locations
- Conduct assessment of the needs of the child and family to determine the need for counselling services and referrals to other services as required
- Develop action plans, regularly reviewing these plans throughout the case management process with the family
- Collate and prepare a range of statistical and other program reports for submission to organisation and funding agency
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Mental Health or significant equivalent experience and training working therapeutically with children and their carers and families
- Proven experience working within Child Safe Frameworks and a strong understanding of mental health needs
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating groups (with children and with adults)
- Demonstrated ability to network effective working relationships across the community (including vulnerable, disadvantaged, and multicultural families)
- Willingness to work from a strength based, solution focused perspective
- High level of written and oral communication skills
- Competent in using computer packages such as Microsoft Office including Outlook
- Current driver's license
- Covid vaccination is mandatory
