Family Support Specialist

This role plays a vital part in creating positive, lasting change in the lives of children and families by helping them build capacity, set goals, and access the right services.

  • Build trusted relationships with families and service providers to ensure they feel empowered and equipped to navigate the NDIS and maximise the support available to their child.
  • Support families to understand, implement and review their child's NDIS plan, facilitating plan reassessments and monitoring progress toward individualised goals.
  • Provide practical guidance and emotional support, especially during challenging conversations.

Working alongside families of young children with disability or developmental delays, you will equip them with skills to support children's growth and connect them with local community resources.

As a Family Support Specialist, you will:

  • Work based in Bankstown, on the lands of the Cabrogal People.
  • The successful candidate will work full-time until June 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong partnerships with families and service providers.
  • SUPPORT PLANS AND OUTCOMES:
    - Facilitate the development of tailored plans for children with disability or developmental delays.
    - Monitor and evaluate progress towards individualised goals.
  • PROVIDE GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT:
    - Offer practical guidance and emotional support to families during challenging times.
  • BUILD COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS:
    - Connect families with local community resources and opportunities.
