About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented National Account Manager – Independent Grocery to lead our growth in the Independent Grocery channel. As a key member of our team, you will drive sales revenue, manage key national accounts, and expand our customer base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Business Strategies
    • Develop and implement quarterly business reviews, category reviews, and joint customer plans to drive sales revenue and expand our customer base.
  • Coordinate and Communicate with Internal Departments
    • Coordinate and communicate with all relevant internal departments, including logistics, distribution, accounts, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless execution of business strategies.
  • Achieve Revenue and Margin Targets
    • Achieve revenue, margin, and contribution targets for designated customer groups through effective sales and account management.
  • Utilize Consumer Insights and Data Analysis
    • Utilize consumer insights and data analysis to identify and maximize existing business opportunities and drive new growth.
  • Forecast Sales Revenue and Volume
    • Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales revenue and volume, and coordinate campaigns and promotions with key customers.
  • Conduct Competitor Analysis
    • Conduct competitor analysis, understand market trends, and make strategic recommendations for future planning.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams
    • Collaborate with Merchandise and Category Managers, franchises, and Group Marketing Managers to plan, monitor, and review activities.
  • Manage Execution and Accountability
    • Manage the execution of all activities, ensuring accountability across the field team and stakeholders, and drive brand and culture consistency across all touchpoints.
Requirements
  • Experience in FMCG Sales Leadership
    • 3-4 years' experience in FMCG sales leadership, account management, or business development.
  • Experience in Independent Grocery Account Management
    • Experience within Independent Grocery account management including Metcash Head Office, state DCs and key MSO retailers.
  • Strong Relationship Building and Leadership Skills
    • Strong relationship building and high levels of tenacity and resilience, with a results-orientated mentality.
  • FMCG Database Experience
    • Experience with FMCG databases such as Quantium, Nielsen & IRI/Aztec.
  • Tertiary Qualifications
    • Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, or a related field are desirable.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
    • Current Australian driver's licence is required.
  • Proven Track Record in Trading Terms and Range Reviews
    • Proven track record in managing and negotiating trading terms and range reviews with major customers.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaboration and Commercial Acumen
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, demonstrating strong commercial acumen, resilience, professionalism, and work ethic.
