Image Capture Specialist

About the Job:

This role requires an individual with exceptional photography skills to capture high-quality images of various materials, including historical documents and artifacts. The successful candidate will work independently to plan and execute photographic location shoots, ensuring that all images meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capture high-resolution digital images of historical documents, artifacts, and other materials using specialized equipment and software.
  • Plan and organize large-scale projects, including in-house digitization, museum art and artifact photography, and site-specific photography.
  • Adjust and manage scanned digital images to create reproductions that accurately represent the original objects.
  • Operate high-resolution digital cameras, scanners, and lighting systems to create professional-quality images.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the photographic lab and studio area.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in photography or related field.
  • Five years of job-related work experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to handle and digitize fragile materials, such as glass negatives and vintage prints.
