Job Title: Lead Visual Content CreatorAbout the Job

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Visual Content Creator to join our team. As a Visual Content Creator, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality images and managing the photographic lab.

Responsibilities
  • Create professional quality images of historical collection materials using digital cameras, scanners, and lighting systems.
  • Digitize glass negatives, photographic prints, and nitrate and other film negatives to produce high-quality and historically accurate reproductions.
  • Operate specialized imaging software to manage scanned digital images and create reproductions that represent the original object as accurately as possible.
  • Plan and organize large-scale projects of in-house digitization, museum art and artifact photography, and site-specific photography in the field.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Photography or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in photography, including experience with digital cameras, scanners, and lighting systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Photography or related field.
  • Experience working in a museum or archival setting.
  • Familiarity with professional image editing and management software.
Working Conditions
  • Work occurs at various locations, indoors and outdoors.
Physical Demands
  • Some travel required.
  • Visual acuity required.
  • May require lifting or carrying heavy equipment.
  • May require standing, sitting, or remaining still for long periods of time.
