Workplace Relations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Workplace Relations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in helping us redefine the future of financial services. You will provide proactive risk-based advice on complex people issues and build your career while working flexibly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert, strategic, and 'people-centred' advice and guidance on conduct and performance cases that are complex or high-risk;
  • Manage and advise on potential or actual external claims and other litigated people matters including Fair Work Commission claims;
  • Conduct workplace investigations and manage consequences against our organisational policy framework;
  • Advise on a broad range of employment matters including award interpretation, legislative compliance, organisational change, managing ill and injured employees, and executive matters;
  • Identify trends and emerging people risks and develop and review policies for continuous improvement and regulatory compliance;
  • Support knowledge and capability building for the wider team and leaders on relevant workplace relations topics;
  • Collaborate with the Employment Legal team (and other stakeholders as appropriate) to manage external claims and other litigated people matters.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Employee Relations, or Human Resources;
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in workplace relations ideally gained within the financial sector, professional services, or corporate environments;
  • Knowledge of employment law and workplace relations best practice, knowledge of relevant workplace relations legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures. Experience at conducting workplace investigations;
  • Financial Services company experience desirable;
  • Exceptional relationship builder with the ability to influence business leaders;
  • Outstanding track record and understanding connections between business strategy, people, and risk levers;
  • Pragmatic and commercially focused;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects but also exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
