AFL Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accountant and Office Administrator to join our client, a premier plaintiff personal injury law firm in Sydney CBD.

As a key valued member of the team, you will relish the variety and challenge of this dual role including:

  • accounts payable/accounts receivable, bank and general ledger reconciliations, month end/EOFY reporting, trust accounting/controlled monies, cashflows, PAYG, BAS and GST, credit card transactions/reconciliations, petty cash and trust audits;
  • ensuring corporate/legal compliance, such as renewing business names via ASIC, renewing firm's insurance and practising certificates for lawyers with the Law Society etc.
  • assisting with recruitment/HR/staff management;
  • being the 'go to' contact with IT professionals, building managers and branch offices in Sydney & Qld.

You will inherit and benefit from the impressive success and reputation of this premier plaintiff personal injury law firm spanning 30 years. You will enjoy the close-knit 'camaraderie' with friendly supportive colleagues (2 others in accounts and 1 dedicated full-time office manager).

We are interested in hearing from you if you:

  • have a diploma/certificate/degree in accounting/bookkeeping;
  • have minimum 5-20+ years hands-on experience as a bookkeeper/accountant (essential) and some office administration/management experience (preferable);
  • have worked for a law firm/legal industry with trust accounting experience [essential];
  • have used Affinity or Locus accounting software [preferable not essential] or otherwise are IT/tech savvy;
  • have strong numeracy skills+ accuracy+ keen eye for detail;
  • are efficient+ deadline/results-driven and a 'do whatever it takes' attitude;
  • have proven ability to thrive in a busy fast-paced multi-tasking environment (essential);
  • can commit LONG-TERM to a permanent role working in the city based office in Sydney 5 days/week.
