The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is a leading organisation in the Australian agriculture industry, managing various events and competitions across Sydney Showground. We are seeking an experienced Event Coordinator to join our dynamic team and support the coordination and execution of several prestigious wine, dairy and fine food shows.

Job Overview

We offer a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to work with our established Wine, Beer & Cider and Fine Food team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with event planning, on-site delivery, and administrative tasks related to the Sydney Royal Wine Show, Cheese & Dairy Show, Fine Food Show, Beer & Cider Show, Distilled Spirits Show, President's Medal, Talk & Taste, Grape, Grain & Graze Festival, and associated events.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Event Planning and Execution: Assist Senior Managers and Event Managers in facilitating administrative tasks, operational preparations, and event logistics for all Sydney Royal Shows.
  • Website Management: Contribute to maintaining the Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy & Fine Food website with up-to-date and relevant content.
  • Travel Arrangements: Efficiently handle travel and accommodation arrangements for Show Officials.
  • Exhibitor Support: Offer assistance to Exhibitors, Council, and Committee members to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Documentation and Organisation: Maintain an organised procedure manual logging completed tasks and event timelines.
  • General Administrative Duties: Undertake general administrative responsibilities to support the team's objectives.
  • Customer Service: Confidently handle section inquiries via phone and email with professionalism.

Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for an individual with excellent attention to detail, creative flair, and organisational skills, complemented by a strong appreciation for the food, wine, and agricultural industries. Key qualifications include:

  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in the wine and food industries (desirable).
  • Administration Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in administration.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving and Coordination Skills: Sound planning, problem-solving, and coordinating skills.
  • Customer Service and Negotiation Skills: Customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Project and Budget Experience: Project and budget experience (desirable).
  • Computer Literacy: High-level computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
