About the Role

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join the Wine, Dairy & Fine Food Team as an Assistant. This exciting role will provide hands-on assistance to the established team in the planning and on-site delivery of the Sydney Royal Wine Show, Cheese & Dairy Show, Fine Food Show, Beer & Cider Show, Distilled Spirits Show, President's Medal, Talk & Taste, Grape, Grain & Graze Festival, and associated events.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for coordinating administrative tasks, facilitating operational preparations, and ensuring the smooth execution of events. Your excellent attention to detail, creative flair, and organizational skills will be essential in delivering a range of duties, including collaborating with Senior Managers and Event Managers, contributing to event planning, maintaining Show website content, handling travel and accommodation arrangements, and providing support to Exhibitors, Councils, and Committees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate administrative tasks and operational preparations for all Sydney Royal Shows
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of associated events, including luncheons, dinners, networking gatherings, and public tastings
  • Maintain the Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy & Fine Food website with up-to-date and relevant content
  • Handle travel and accommodation arrangements for Show Officials
  • Provide support to Exhibitors, Councils, and Committees to ensure a smooth operational flow
  • Log completed tasks and event timelines in a meticulous procedure manual
  • Undertake general administrative responsibilities to support the team's objectives
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in the wine and food industries (desirable)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound planning, problem solving, and coordinating skills
  • Customer service and negotiation skills
  • Project and budget experience (desirable)
