The Role:
As the foremost manufacturer of Food Cans in Australia, Visy produces over 500 million cans each year, catering to diverse sectors.
In your role as Manufacturing Manager, reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will oversee the efficient use and coordination of manufacturing assets, which include raw materials, workforce, and production and maintenance facilities. Your exceptional communication abilities and understanding of team dynamics will be crucial for your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote safety awareness and ensure adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations as well as quality standards.
- Guide the team to meet targets related to labor efficiency, compliance with agreements, payroll processes, safety protocols, employee development, performance evaluations, continuous improvement efforts, cleanliness, production, service quality, and cost management.
- Engage in quality system audits, foster strong relationships with clients to guarantee satisfaction, and maintain effective partnerships with suppliers to achieve quality and supply chain objectives.
- Formulate and execute production and maintenance strategies, maintain performance metrics, and oversee the integration of new products into the production line.
- Track and manage production and maintenance performance, weekly key performance indicators, and labor expenses. Ensure a comprehensive understanding of profit and loss statements and actively participate in the budgeting process.
What You Will Contribute:
- Significant experience in managing personnel within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and SAP, with additional experience in maintenance systems being advantageous.
- A collaborative, hands-on mindset with a natural talent for building and sustaining meaningful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant engineering or production qualifications and/or experience in a high-speed manufacturing context.
- Strong financial acumen, particularly in production budgeting related to labor and spoilage.
