About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our team at Visy. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the effective utilization and coordination of manufacturing resources, including raw materials, labor, and production and maintenance facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safety and Compliance: Champion safety awareness and ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and quality systems.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead the team to achieve objectives related to labor utilization, compliance with EBA, payroll activities, safety, staff development, performance reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, housekeeping, production, service, quality, and cost control.
  3. Quality and Customer Satisfaction: Actively participate in quality system audits, build effective relationships with customers to ensure client satisfaction, and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to meet quality and supply chain goals.
  4. Production Planning: Develop and implement production and maintenance plans, maintain performance reports, and manage the introduction of new SKUs into the work area.
  5. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and control production and maintenance outputs, weekly KPIs, and labor costs. Ensure a thorough understanding of P&L and participate actively in the budgeting process.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Extensive people management experience within a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and SAP, with additional advantage if experienced with maintenance systems.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: A collaborative, hands-on approach and the natural ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Education and Qualifications: Engineering or production qualifications and/or experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  5. Financial Acumen: Strong financial aptitude, particularly in production budgeting (labor and spoilage).
