Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Community Engagement Officer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with local community organisations, regional and state government, and other community-minded organisations to generate opportunities for people with disabilities to access the best housing and services they need to live life to the fullest.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with organisations that can connect us with people who need our services.
  • Assist with transition planning and provide support to stakeholders from initial enquiry through to move-in.
  • Engage with local community organisations, regional and state government, and other community-minded organisations to generate opportunities for people with disabilities.
  • Identify opportunities and demonstrate community engagement experience.
  • Develop and implement strategies to build collaborative partnerships and deliver solutions that meet the needs of NDIS participants.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to achieve organisational goals.
Requirements
  • Sound understanding of the NDIS price guide and ability to complete schedule of support agreements and tenancy agreements.
  • Strong referral connections and local knowledge of the area.
  • Strong communication and engagement skills to build collaborative partnerships.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and demonstrate community engagement experience.
  • Well-developed stakeholder negotiation skills to deliver solutions that meet the needs of NDIS participants.
  • Two years' experience in a similar role within a human services environment.
  • Empathetic, positive, and warm approach to working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Organisational skills, including planning, prioritising, monitoring workload, deadlines, and meeting KPIs.
  • Ability to implement and comply with relevant regulation, policies, and procedures.
Mandatory Requirements
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) clearance check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation certificate.
  • Own vehicle and an unrestricted driving licence.
  • NDIS Orientation Module.
