Job Summary

We're seeking a seasoned Data Protection Expert to join our team and lead the management, optimization, and scaling of our enterprise backup and recovery infrastructure.

  • Administer and maintain the Commvault backup and recovery environment across hybrid infrastructure.
  • Monitor system health, job performance, and storage utilization proactively.
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of backup failures, restore issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Provide L3 support and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  1. Designing and implementing efficient backup and recovery strategies.
  2. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems.
  3. Developing and maintaining technical documentation and knowledge base.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Expert-level hands-on experience with Commvault, DataDomain, Networker, CommServe, Media Agents, and client configurations.
  • Strong understanding of backup policies, deduplication, catalogue management, and storage targets (ECS, Pure, VMAX).
  • Proficiency in VMware technology – Aria Suite, VRA/VRO Automation.
  • Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM) and AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and reporting dashboards such as Grafana and Prometheus.
