About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Director to lead our Foodservice division. This is an exceptional opportunity for a sales leader to drive business growth, manage key customer relationships, and build a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive growth across all food service channels, setting measurable targets to exceed revenue goals.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and inspire a top-tier sales team, creating a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement through regular coaching, performance reviews, and providing growth opportunities.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key clients, understanding their business needs to deliver tailored solutions that foster long-term loyalty and satisfaction.
- Market Expansion: Leverage industry knowledge and insights to expand market reach, developing plans to penetrate new markets, launch products, and introduce targeted solutions to meet evolving industry demands.
- Financial Accountability: Take ownership of the Food Service Sales P&L, setting and monitoring financial targets, managing the sales budget, and ensuring resources are used effectively to maximise profitability.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use analytics and performance metrics to inform decisions, adjust strategies, and optimise sales effectiveness, preparing and presenting reports to senior management on key sales activities and growth initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, operations, and logistics teams to ensure alignment on strategies, product launches, and customer needs.
Requirements:
- Experience: 8+ years in sales leadership, ideally within the food service or hospitality industry (ideally some dairy), with a strong record of driving sales and growing market share.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team, skilled in coaching and building a strong team culture.
- Client-Focused Approach: Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Strategic & Financial Acumen: Strong analytical skills with P&L responsibility, financial planning, and budgeting experience, able to set and manage priorities effectively.
- Adaptability & Drive: Thrives in a fast-paced environment, highly motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient in pursuing ambitious targets.
