**Primary Purpose of the role**:
This position is required to undertake all duties within the Health Information and Record Service including attending to assembly, filing, tracking, retrieval and dispatch of health records along with assisting in the maintenance of a hybrid medical record.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Provision of patient records to state wide health centres including tracking, assembly and retrieval of paper records
- Maintain high quality and accurate electronic data using all current relevant modules such as the Patient Administration System
- Accurate integration and filing of patient records and other ‘loose sheets’ within the health record
- Release of information for patient care
- Assist the medico-legal team in processing solicitor and other third party requests
- Request files from Government Records Repository (GRR)
- Photocopying and other general health record and administrative duties
- Adherence to privacy and confidentiality guidelines

**Criiteria**:

- Previous medical records or administrative experience in a hospital/health care setting
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to organise work priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proven ability to work under mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated understanding of patient confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task and organise work priorities under mínimal supervision
