Why this role matters

The Salvation Army Family Violence Stream provides a broad range of programs to support women and their children who have experienced domestic, family and sexual violence. Our services provide specialised support to address immediate safety needs and provide casework, referrals, and connection to assist the healing and recovery journey.

About the role

Join our team as a Case Manager and be a catalyst for positive change.
As a Family Violence Specialist Case Manager, you will work with women and their children impacted by domestic and family violence, using a strengths-based, trauma responsive, violence-informed approach to develop and implement client-led case plans that prioritise safety, risk management, and long-term wellbeing. You will support clients in achieving self-determined goals while maintaining a commitment to keeping the perpetrator’s actions in view and holding them accountable. This role aligns with The Salvation Army Family Violence Case Management Framework.

There are two permanent full-time positions; located in Dulwich Hill and Surry Hills, on Gadigal Land, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5 Award.

You will successfully- Conduct comprehensive, continuous assessments of clients' needs, risks, and circumstances, to guide safety planning and risk management.- Develop interventions that address risk by holding perpetrators accountable, promoting victim safety, and supporting the wellbeing of children.- Provide case management support aligned with The Salvation Army’s Family Violence Case Management Practice Guide, fostering a safe, person-centred, and trauma-informed approach. Establish effective, supportive relationships that prioritise the agency and self-determination of each client.- Develop individualised, comprehensive case plans in partnership with clients that incorporate risk management, safety planning, and a range of tailored interventions addressing immediate needs and longer-term goals.- Facilitate access to resources and support services, maintaining a collaborative, multi-agency approach to case management that leverages partnerships and community services to provide wraparound care and advocacy.- Engage regularly with clients to monitor progress, adapting case plans and safety strategies as needed to reflect updated risk assessments and foster resilience, safety, and stability for victim-survivors and their families.- Effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and
participation

You will have- Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field OR demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development- Relevant experience in a social service environment, specifically Family and Domestic Violence- A national police record check is required- Relevant state Working with Children Check is required- Participation in rotating on-call roster- Attendance at sector interagency meetings and working groups
